About UsDamaged Frontlines is no ordinary ''gaming'' clan. In DDFS, we have our own ways of doing things. In this page, you will find info about DDFS.
History Back in the days, begin 2009, GotLocked and a friend discovered a BF2 mod called Sandbox. They played Sandbox a lot, and wanted to create a clan in the future. In the end of the 0.5 beta of Sandbox, they created a little clan called =ZW=. ZW stands for the part of the city they lived in. After the release of Sandbox 1.0, ZW became a bigger clan with around 15 members. =ZW= became good friends with another clan called =PHC=. About a month later, they merged and the owners of both clans became owners of a new clan: =AOL= (Army Of Legends). In a very short time, =AOL= grew to a total of about 50 members. When =AOL= was a big Sandbox clan, they got their own 24/7 Sandbox server. However =AOL= was a big clan, it got a lot of inactive members. This was the reason to changed the name and to kick all inactive members. The admins also wanted to set up a good set of rules and a good organization. In December 2009, the =AOL= clan became ''The [SMoT] Community. [SMoT] got it's own server and a real website. Some of the members began to learn creating addons and custom HUDs. Because of these skills, the [SMoT] server became the most popular server in Sandbox. In march 2011, the most of the [SMoT] members didn't actively play Sandbox anymore. They wanted to expand [SMoT] to other games like Bad Company 2 and soon Battlefield 3. Since [SMoT] was a really bad name for non-Sandbox, [SMoT] got a new name: Damaged Frontlines. Now a days, we own a professional website and multiple gaming and voice servers. Take a look at our servers page! Clicky What we do and why Quote We wanted to create a gaming clan which does not have gaming as main goal. We think that hanging out on Xfire and on the forums is more important and fun than gaming itself. In Damaged Frontlines we do like gaming, but hanging out is more important. If you only join a clan for gaming, we think you do not fit here. Except gaming and hanging out, we also do like to do projects. Think about creating a custom HUD in Sandbox (a BF2 mod), creating a web radio with multiple members and creating little programs for your PC. We do also like to create little movies filmed in a game or creating stuff in Photoshop. People who have skills with programs like Adobe Photoshop, After effects, Sony Vegas or Microsoft Visual Studio are really welcomed to join DDFS! Ranks Just like other clans we have ranks, unfortunately. We need ranks to keep DDFS well organized and active. Just like you can see on the roster page, we have Staff and non-Staff. Everyone in our staff has a job which he should do so good as possible. Without these jobs, DDFS can not stay so active and organized as it is right now. Just like you read above: Unfortunately. Why? Just because the simple reason that we all want to be equal to each other. Our staff does have more power, but are still regular members. We do not care about the ranks, but about fun. So do not bother talking to any of the staff. The staff really likes to talk with others, just like ''normal'' members. If you join DDFS just for the admin powers: GTFO. You will not get admin powers or become admin if you don't really like DDFS. Everybody in the staff has been in DDFS for a long time, which means they like DDFS. Also, they are very trusted. Our website On the DDFS website, everybody who created an account may post and create topics on the forum. The shoutbox is also free to use!
